Dr Sykes is a scientist by background to PhD level at Cambridge  and Yale, which included two years as an Associate of Ralph Nader's Public Interest Group Research Group in Washington DC. He then spent 27 years with chemicals manufacturer ICI in various business management and leadership roles, six years of which were as ICI's Group VP IT. Sykes has deep experience in the broad world of business-applied information technology, a strong interest in, and involvement in, the world of visual arts.
