Martin started his IT journalism career at PC Week. He joined Ziff-Davis UK in 1992 and helped launch PC Direct, rising to become Deputy Editor before leaving to set up ZDNet News. He joined IT Week as Executive News Editor in 1998 and was appointed Editor in 1999. He joined CIO in March 2008, and his other published work includes appearances in The Wall Street Journal Europe, BBC News Online, CFO and The Guardian. He also speaks regularly at conferences.

Steve Shine serves as executive vice president of worldwide operations at open source vendor Ingres. In this role he is responsible for our global field operations including sales and services. Shine was senior vice president and general manager for EMEA at Sybase, overseeing all operational, sales, marketing, services and support operations in the region. Prior to Sybase, Shine was at Canadian-based Geac Computer Corporation for ten successful years, based in both the UK and US at various times, during which he helped to successfully turn around two major global divisions for the ERP firm. Prior to this Shine spent 6 years with Andersen Consulting and three years in the Oil Exploration Industry. Steve holds a degree in physics from Manchester University.

Mark became the News Editor of a consumer magazine initially before joining Sky TV as an online editor, which led to a stint producing television items. He then traveled for two years, before returning to be News Editor of publishing industry title Information World Review which he went on to edit before joining CIO in January 2008. As Editor of the online CIO title he is responsible for all online content and developments.
