The A-Level results released today reveal further falls in the number of students taking technology A-level subjects.

This year, 5, 610 students took A-level computing, compared with 6,233 last year. The A-level in Information and Communication technology also saw a similar drop in uptake, with 13,360 taking the course this year as opposed to 14,208 in 2006.

In 2006 the number of students taking A-level computing fell by 13.9%, those results alongside this years results seem to confirm fears that young people are being turned off IT as a career.
