Launch 48 is running their first 2010 event in Birmingham from tomorrow, Friday the 26 to Sunday 28 of March.

Launch 48 is a Web development event that gives attendees the opportunity to develop cutting edge business ideas in a supportive and educational environment.

The event, as the name suggests, runs for 48 hours with the goal of launching a new web or mobile business idea at the end of the weekend.

"By encouraging entrepreneurs with no or little experience to attend the event with diverse skills such as business, finance, management, software development, and design, Launch 48 creates a unique environment for starting new businesses," the organisers insist.

Various mentors and board members will be attending during the Launch 48 Birmingham to offer assistance to attendees on all aspects of creating and delivering their web app successfully.

"Coupled with mentors who have run successful companies or have relevant skills to the web and mobile industries, such as PayPal, and a mature agenda, Launch 48 has experienced great success over the past year with at least 2 businesses going on to generate revenue," Launch 48 adds.

A follow-up event held 6 weeks after the weekend event helps to keep teams working on their ideas after the event as well as on-going support from the mentors.

Launch 48 Birmingham takes place at Birmingham Science Park Aston.
