73. Aegon Asset Management UK
- Head of IT: Paul Chong, Director of IT & Change
- Industry: Financial services
- Website: www.aegon.com
Financial services and advisory giant Aegon has over $54bn in assets and has held on to a AA credit rating (indicating ‘very strong') amid the turmoil that has hurt so many rivals.
The group employs 4,900 staff and serves over two million customers from its HQ in Edinburgh. Aegon serves the corporate pension and asset management fields but in the consumer sector is known for its Scottish Equitable and Guardian brands.
The company has advised the government on its national money guidance guide and clearly stands to benefit from the reduction in dependence on state pensions.
Although not so well branded as many others in the finance sector, Aegon is seeking to change that perception by sponsoring Masters Tennis tournaments, the creation of specialist internet micro-sites and tools, video guides, blogs and research.
Aegon outsources desktop managed services to Computacenter.
