Alstom is a French manufacturing of railway locomotives and power equipment. Railway operators in the UK that use its vehicles include First Group, Virgin Rail and the Gatwick Express. It is famously the manufacturer of the TGV and Eurostar high speeds trains.
Alstom won a $1.2 billion contract with French national rail network SNCF to build and supply 100 regional trains in the Spring of 2009.
The company has manufacturing and service plants in the UK. In recent years it has signed desktop support deals with Atos Origin for its 55,000 global users in 70 countries
