The Department for Transport (DfT) is the Whitehall government department for the English transport infrastructure and some parts of transport provision and policy in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales which have not been devolved to the local government agencies. The current Secretary of State for Transport is Conservative Justine Greening.

Significant strategic technology deals been struck in the last 12 months: the Department for Transport (DfT) has cut website costs by moving from an enterprise content management system for its corporate website in June 2011, to an open source solution and a new hosting platform.
