Glasgow City Council is nearly two years into an innovative deal it struck with fellow CIO 100 organisation Serco, which provides outsourced services in IT and other service sectors.
Glasgow, Scotland's largest local authority went from being known as a low user of outsourced services to a 10 year deal with Serco, which aims to provide the city with savings of £70 million.
City Building (Glasgow), which was the building services arm of Glasgow City Council, signed a three year contract with Civica for a mobile system for its workforce to enter information on repairs it carries out.
