76. ISS
- Head of IT: Jeremy Lutley, IT Manager
- Industry: Utilities
- Website: www.iss.net
It might have started out in 1901 as a Danish team of nightwatchmen but facilities and managed services provider ISS Group today employs about 43,500 UK staff providing buildings and managed services including catering, cleaning, security, support and pest control to 200,000 business-to-business customers. Globally, ISS's employment roster is 460,000 and the company has operations in 50 countries.
Perhaps better known by brands such as Pegasus Security, ISS is attempting to grow globally and in its range of services offered. In October, the company was praised by analyst firm Frost & Sullivan for "promoting regional and global knowledge and best-practice sharing, as well as increased focus on cross-border sales".
IT is an important component for ISS in particular in its support services that include back-office infrastructure, conferencing and helpdesk capabilities, and in security where electronic surveillance and access management services are offered.
