Globally KPMG is mid-way through a massive IT transformation moving from being an Oracle dominated organisation to one that is using SAP as the platform from which to ensure it has a global operating model.
Moving onto SAP isn't just about introducing new software, KPMG is redefining its business processes as part of the strategic change over. It is also introducing more collaborative technologies, based on Microsoft Sharepoint, which will also help it set out the new business processes and integrate SAP successfully.
Application development and support has been moved to India in recent years and KPMG told commentators it expected major cost savings from the move. Other outsourced suppliers include BT.
