Founded by an entomologist who patented poisons Harold Maxwell-Lefroy tried to register his business as Entokill, but had instead to register Rentokil. Throughout its history its been acquisitive, hence the Initial addition to the name. Today as well as pest control operation it is a major player in the logistics business with City Link business.
