Sean Burke has left Galderma, the skincare products company where he was CIO.

Burke made the announcement at a Lisbon, Portugal conference for staff organised by CIO magazine publisher IDG.

Burke said he was looking for a new role but had no announcement to make at present.

At Galderma, a joint-venture between Nestle and L’Oreal, Burke oversaw a major overhaul of IT bringing “some coherence to the mess” as he put it in an an article for CIO.

Burke also predicted that the pharmaceuticals sector will survive the recession largely unscathed, saying slow cycles will help it beat the economy.
