The London Borough of Southwark has outsourced its IT desktop infrastructure in a £26-million replacement services deal.

The authority’ existing IT services supplier, Serco has taken on a new five-year contract to deliver £30,000 savings with the introduction of thin-client technology and remote monitoring of its desktop, server and software estate.

The new contract is a key strategic part of Southwark’s transformation programme aimed at overhauling services, regenerating its area and building better links with the local business community over the next ten years.
