The owners of the Café Rouge, Strada and Bella Italia restaurant chains are upgrading their electronic point-of-sale systems.

Tragus, the company that owns the brands, has signed a software deal with retail specialist Torex that will upgrade POS systems at 289 sites.

Using its existing Torex ABS POS platform, Tragus can collate data centrally to provide head office with easy access to relevant information across all brands. Data regarding prices, products and promotions is automatically synchronised with POS terminals.

The POS software upgrade will "ensure Tragus can prepare for future initiatives in loyalty and promotions", said the firm. Tragus said the upgrades will be deployed across all restaurants within the next six months.

Derek Risk, IT director at Tragus, said: "We’ve been very pleased with the ABS POS so far and we’re happy to be working with Torex to secure further benefits from the system and help grow our business."

Torex will also install its Torex A12 POS hardware in all newly opened Tragus restaurants. This hardware is designed to be more robust and durable against spillages and other damage.
