Nice set of numbers from Salesforce.com for its first quarter: net income of $730,000, compared with a net loss of $229,000 in the same year ago quarter; total revenues were up 55 per cent year on year to $162.4 million with the US up 50 per cent, Europe up 71 per cent and Asian Pacific up 85 per cent.

Subscription and support revenues were $147.7m, an increase of 56 per cent from the same quarter last year and an increase of 12 per cent from the fiscal fourth quarter, 2007. The company also pulled in $14.7m in professional services for the quarter, an increase of 44 per cent from the same year-ago quarter, and up 21 per cent from the last quarter.
