Trinity Mirror is launching a £1 million, internally-developed Advanced Recruitment Technology (ART) system across its jobs sites portfolio, Fish4jobs, GAAPweb, SecsintheCity, PlanetRecruit and TotallyLegal.
The system supports new job recruitment features in social media, mobile and search.
Trinity Mirror Digital Recruitment's ART has been developed on a Java platform and hosted in the Amazon cloud.
Gareth Lloyd, operations director of Trinity Mirror Digital Recruitment, said: "Like all major players in the sector there was some pretty old technology at the heart of some of our sites. We have built ART from the ground up, so we can drive forward so much more quickly in developing our web services, social integration and mobile sites.”
ART includes specifically designed interfaces for mobile access, optimised for smaller screens, and for tablets with specific touch screen features.
ART’s inline application process and infinity search results free jobseekers from page by page navigation and suggests relevant jobs based on a candidate’s onsite behaviour.
Jobseekers can create a CV and apply for jobs using their LinkedIn profile and receive jobs direct to their Twitter account.
With social media playing a critical role in the hiring process, recruiters and employers can also validate a jobseeker’s online reputation through ART’s social media integration, as it carries them straight to the social networking sites added by jobseekers.
Earlier this year Facebook slammed companies for demanding the passwords to potential recruits' Facebook accounts, so that they could fully check their "suitability" for employment.
