The CIO career
The CIO career path is diverse, challenging and global. To reach the top, CIOs need a wide business skill set. The CIO must develop a deep understanding of the business, and develop his or her own skills in people management, negotiation abilities and communications techniques. CIOs will also see their family lives challenged by the strains of travel, working hours and commitments, they may be required to relocate, or spend considerable amounts of time abroad with divisions or partners.
