Vodafone win Grant Thornton £2m remote access deal

Wifi, 3G and fixed broadband access for 3,500 staff

Business advisory firm Grant Thornton has signed a £2 million remote access deal with Vodafone.

Under the two-year contract, Vodafone will manage and secure Grant Thornton’s mobile network.

Using the Vodafone Secure Remote Access platform, Grant Thornton will provide high-speed remote data transmission for its entire remote workforce, while monitoring security.

Grant Thornton has over 3,500 employees who need to work remotely, meeting clients. With many staff in varied locations, it needed a manageable way of ensuring they had remote access.

The system has a tailored capability to report on usage, as well as a centralised set of controls for security enforcement.

The company said the platform was also lower cost and simpler than rival technology. Staff can use a “one button” connection to switch on to a range of mobile and fixed networks, including 3G, WiFi and fixed broadband.

Greg Swift, UK IT director at Grant Thornton, said: "By centralising the management of our mobile network, our staff have another enhanced service delivery tool that further increases our already high client satisfaction."
