Vodafone is making a device designed to improve mobile signal in the home available to consumers.
The Access Gateway is a tiny box the size of a router, which plugs into a broadband connection and routes calls across it to improve the strength of 3G calls. Vodafone says it can support up to four voice calls at any one time.
Ian Shepherd, consumer director of Vodafone UK said: "The Vodafone Access Gateway will boost indoor mobile phone coverage for customers who today, find they need to move around the rooms in their home to get a consistent signal strength".
The Access Gateway will be available from July 1 and is expected to cost £160, although it can be bundled in an existing contract for a further £15 per month.
