Met Police ex-deputy commissioner starts work at Accenture

Tim Godwin takes lucrative role in service firm's public sector practice

Tim Godwin, a former deputy commissioner at London's Metropolitan Police, began work this week within public sector operations at IT services firm Accenture.

Godwin, who also temporarily became acting commissioner earlier this year, is taking the role at Accenture to help drive its police consultancy business – which is a high profile operation at the company.

Godwin is expected to take a six figure salary at Accenture, as he was already earning nearly a quarter of million pound pay packet within the police force.

He is the latest senior Met officer to move into the private sector in recent months, after assistant commissioner Ian McPherson joined consultancy KPMG in Canada.
