Capita Life & Pensions modernise servers to reduce costs

Capita Life & Pensions has embarked on a modernisation programme for its policy administration systems.

Capita Life & Pensions has embarked on a modernisation programme for its policy administration systems.

The company, which has 32,000 staff and sells its own outsourcing and administration services to life insurance and pension firms, is moving from customer data from legacy mainframe systems to the Microsoft Windows server environment in-house at Capita.

It has signed a three year deal with Micro Focus for software to migrate its data to the new systems. It will use the Micro Focus Revolve technology change management software, a Micro Focus Cobol development environment and Micro Focus Mainframe Express for mainframe development.

Capita expects the move to generate cost savings by creating a more efficient IT setup. Two to three Capita customers will move data to the new systems as part of the initial stages of the programme.

Registration is free, and gives you full access to our extensive white paper library, case studies & analysis, downloads & speciality areas, and more.

Craig Rodgerson, IT director at Capita Life & Pensions, said: “The ability to modernise existing systems on contemporary platforms is key to providing an effective administration service for our clients in the future.”

Last month, Capita Life & Pensions signed a five-year deal with Steria for offshore application development and support services.
