Saturday

I made an early start to fly from London City Airport to Amsterdam for the ViAG Conference representing the President of SOCITM. ViAG is the Dutch sister organisation to SOCITM.

I wasn't sure what to expect, but had been told "don't worry – everything is arranged". Sure enough, myself and two delegates from Sweden, who arrived at the same time as me, were met at Amsterdam Airport by Arend van Beek – the ViAG Chairman - and taken to the hotel & conference venue in Nijkerk (pronounced Nike-Eric).

On Saturday evening, we were taken to the "Symphonica in Rosso" hosted by Paul de Leeuw (a big star in Holland) at the Gelredome (a major football stadium) in Arnhem.

We were treated to a wonderful evening, with a pre-show dinner, then the show of popular music backed by a symphony orchestra, and at which the atmosphere in the packed audience of around 20,000 was fantastic, and then an after show party. The dress code for the evening was red, so we had been provided with red ViAG sweat-shirts to wear.
