Thursday

I had an early meeting with our site facilities manager to discuss gate-keeping and parking arrangements, then wrote to colleagues with details of planned new arrangements.

Then I met with Adrian Norman in connection with a project about which I cannot speak at present – but watch this space!

We were chatting, among other things, about the Government decision to procure developers for the UK Identity Card and he referred me to this interesting contribution to the BCS which, I guess, encapsulates his views.

Then, I attended further discussions with LOCOG.
In the afternoon, I chaired a panel with representation from Microsoft and Kent County Council to assess the improved proposals from the short-listed bidders to run the programme management office for the Microsoft Shared Learning Group. The revised offers were excellent and very close, but Hedra won by a short head.
