Wednesday

I visited BT's Adastral Park, in Ipswich (which, for me, will forever remain the Martlesham Research Laboratories) with Shane and Alf. Our agenda included "Intelligent Infrastructures", Broadband Applications Research, Future Insights, Contact Centre Futures and TeleCare. It was mostly a very interesting day; on several occasions we had to curtail discussion in order to stick with the agenda, but I was very disappointed in the TeleCare presentation, which I thought less advanced than our own developments. It's always inspiring to get to meet some of the boffins at BT and see and hear about their innovation, but I'm also always frustrated at the time taken to bring developments to market.

In the late afternoon I headed back into Canary Wharf for a progress briefing from KPMG on the SOCITM Corporate Services Review.
