Newham's Strategic Management Board met this morning. The highlight was an extremely entertaining, and inspiring presentation of the Council's Front Office project from David Murray, our Head of Community and Customer Services.
The programme is being conducted through five strands, which are Assets, Customer Care Standards, Local Service Centres, Libraries and Contact Centre integration, Business Processes and Communications & Benchmarking.
David's concluding slide? 'And remember "To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but dream; not only plan, but also believe" (Anatole France).' David's presentation is available to staff on the Intranet.
In the afternoon, a number of the ICT Management Team participated in a strategy definition workshop in my office, facilitated by HP's Market Development Director, Rob Watt, with other HP colleagues in attendance. We looked at business challenges in the next three years, considered the required services and capabilities, and developed nine corresponding work streams.
I thought the workshop really worthwhile and productive. Rob has taken away the flip-charts from our meeting to write-up, so I'll report back the main points when I get the notes back.
