CIO Summit 2010 part 3: Clive Selley

In September 2010, CIO held its inaugural summit in London, attended by around 80 CIOs and other IT leaders.

The focus for the morning was to look as ways CIOs can align their activities towards the business.

CIOs are often overly thought of as managers of keeping the lights on, to the detriment of creating business opportunities. This involves spending the company’s money on speculative activity. Clive Selley, CIO of BT explains how research and innovation is structured and managed within the telecoms giant to help transform it into a TV and entertainment player.

At the end of the video, at 25 minutes and 50 seconds, Selley joins a panel including Control Risks CIO Duncan Scott and Jaguar Land Rover CIO Jeremy Vincent to answer questions from the audience.
