CIOs gathered in the Mercedes-Benz Driving Experience centre at the historic Brooklands park, for the latest CIO UK Summit to ponder how they could answer the call from CEOs to drive transformation in business.

CIOs and other strategic IT leaders met at the Mercedes-Benz Driving Experience near Weybridge to discuss how they could be forces for transformation in their businesses

Around 40 IT leaders attended presentations by their peers to hear their experiences and get some advice on IT's role in transforming business

4. Visions of the future
The CIO UK Transformation Summit opened with a presentation from JLT CIO Ian Cohen, who has years of experience delivering on a transformation agenda.

Sony Music Entertainment UK's Steve Monaghan explained how the transformation imperitive can be forced on a company by the environment it operates in.
6. Free speeches
The meeting operated on the basis that the speakers and audience, which was exclusively CIO-level executives, could talk freely about the challenges they face in the company of their peers.
7. Questions and answers
The speakers were on hand to answer the audience's queries in a frank Q&A session. Attendees had many questions to ask.
8. Offline talk
Summit attendees had time in between presentations to network with each other and share their own experiences of meeting the challenge of transforming their businesses.

The Summit attendees were free to speak with the event's presenters on a one-to-one basis, if they had any further questions for them.

Maggie Miller, former IT lead at Sainsburys and Warner Music, gave the audience the benefit of her experience in leading a trasformation project.

Chris Airey, CIO at marketing services company Bezier, told attendees flexibility is key in keeping afloat in a transformation project.
15. Hospital care
University College London Hospitals ICT director James Thomas showed the audience what a hospital without a waiting room could look like, to illustrate his transformation agenda.
16. Track record
The CIO Transformation Summit was held at the Mercedes-Benz Driving Experience, situated in the historic site of the Brooklands racetrack - the world's first purpose-built automotive racetrack.
17. Speed of change
Once the Summit was completed, attendees were invited to drive the latest ranges of Mercedes luxury cars on a dedicated racetrack and skid-pan.
18. Obstacle course
Summit attendees driving skills were tested on an obstacle-course in the latest Mercedes 4x4 models.
