Markerstudy has appointed Dan Fiehn to the newly created role of Chief Operating Officer (COO) at the motor insurance company.
The CIO 100 regular joined Markerstudy in 2011 as Director of Group IT and Product Management, where he was given the remit to establish a group technology function.
He went on to scale IT operations as the company grew from 500 staff in 2011 to more than 3,500 in 2017, while introducing a range of new digital capabilities including machine learning pricing predictions. During Fiehn's time at Markerstudy, the company has won a Gartner Financial Services Eye on Innovation Award and the Celent Model Insurer Award for Innovation in four consecutive years.
"Markerstudy is a company that refuses to stand still," Fiehn said in a press release. "During the seven years I've been here, I’ve been lucky enough to have been at the forefront of innovation and change, implementing artificial intelligence, big data and insurer-hosted rating hub initiatives. I'm absolutely delighted to be taking on a new challenge and position as COO at Markerstudy and I'm certain we'll have some even more exciting times ahead."
Markerstudy also announced the appointment of Adam Miller as Group Head of IT, who joined the company in 2015 as Deputy Head of IT.
