Mark Chillingworth

After university Mark became the News Editor of a motorsports magazine before his interest in technology overtook racing drivers and he joined Sky TV's science and technology channel. At Sky Mark edited the consumer website, which led to a stint producing television items. Mark became Editor in Chief of CIO in September 2010 and has focused on putting the CIO publications and events at the centre of the CIO community.

As the founder and CEO of digital consultancy and systems integrator Conchango Mike Altendorf has experience in consulting services, technology and business development. After gaining a degree in Production Engineering & Management Altendorf worked in business development, sales and solution design before founding Conchango in 1991. Conchango grew into a global consultancy built on helping companies to exploit the internet for business growth. With revenues in excess of £45 million the company was sold to EMC Corporation in April 2008. As an entrepreneur and investor, Altendorf is passionate about the role technology can play in driving business growth and is also an active business mentor, working with blue chip companies to help them identify how technology can drive innovation and growth. As a strong supporter of CIOs within enterprise and a great believer in their role as innovation agents Altendorf also mentors leading CIOs from across different industries

Edward Qualtrough

Edward Qualtrough

Edward is the Online Editor of CIO UK and previously worked as a Content Manager and occasional reporter for sister titles Computerworld UK and Techworld, making sure the sites were full of the latest news, features and blogs about business technology. Edward is a former Press Association sports journalist and worked as a sub-editor for Teletext, predominantly covering cycling, tennis, cricket, rugby union, football and boxing. Edward still considers Teletext to be state-of-the-art technology; as such he likes to wait up to 30 seconds for web pages to load, and can only deal with eight colours and 40 x 24 character grids.

Ade McCormack

Ade McCormack

Ade McCormack is an author, market commentator and advisor on digital leadership. His focus is on helping organisations maximise the value obtained from their IT assets. He is an opinion columnist at the Financial Times, advising business leaders on IT issues. According to ex Harvard Business Review editor, Nick Carr, "Ade McCormack sounds a much-needed clarion call for IT to grow up and become a mature business function." Ade also lectures on digital leadership at MIT Sloan School of Management on their MBA programme.

Richard Sykes

Richard Sykes

Dr Sykes is a scientist by background to PhD level at Cambridge and Yale, which included two years as an Associate of Ralph Nader's Public Interest Group Research Group in Washington DC. He then spent 27 years with chemicals manufacturer ICI in various business management and leadership roles, six years of which were as ICI's Group VP IT. Sykes has deep experience in the broad world of business-applied information technology, a strong interest in, and involvement in, the world of visual arts.

Jerry Fishenden

Jerry Fishenden

Former NHS IT Director Jerry Fishenden was involved in the Public Administration Select Committee investigation into UK government IT following the election of the coalition. Jerry has also been National Technology Officer for Microsoft and an IT leader for the House of Commons.

Ian Cox

Ian Cox

Ian is an experienced CIO who has led and transformed IT functions, services and platforms across different industries. Prior to becoming a CIO he held management positions in a number of functions, including business development, operations and business change. Now working as a consultant, retained adviser and coach to boards and CxOs, he specialises in helping businesses create a vision and strategy for growth and defining and driving transformation programmes.

Adam Gerrard

Adam Gerrard

In recent years Adam Gerrard has been Global CTO for online hotel room booking site Laterooms.com and Group CIO for Avis Europe, the major car rental company. Gerrard has also held business technology leadership roles at Thomas Cook, Chep and Dixons. He has appeared in the CIO 100 twice before.
