A CIO 100 high-flyer in 2015 and 2014, Christina Scott remains one of our leading CIOs even as she moves from one media conglomerate to another, writes CIO 100 judge Mark Chillingworth.

In the past year Christina Scott has continued the remarkably transformative work she was undertaking at the Financial Times, and moved on to new pastures. Scott remained in the top 10 of the 2015 CIO 100 for adding CPO to her responsibilities as CIO of the Financial Times.

Scott announced in December 2015 she was joining News UK. She joins the newspaper arm of Rupert Murdoch's UK media empire as its CTO.

In her time at the FT Scott introduced a wide range of new and innovative vendors, including Amazon Redshift. She was also responsible for bringing in challenger user experience firm Red Badger for a creativity summit with the FT team.

CIO 100 judge Mike Altendorf says it was these moves and her understanding of information that led to the CPO responsibility as the FT digital business grows. And this has now been recognised by her peers as she moves to one of largest newspaper groups on the planet.
