Carlsberg, probably one of the world’s leading brewery groups, has selected Accenture to consolidate its SAP systems across its European operations into one single platform.
It is hoped that the implementation will be completed during 2015, but terms of the three-year contract were not disclosed.
The new single solution will replace a series of stand-alone systems currently operating in the region and will underpin Carlsberg’s sales, finance, production, logistics, procurement and planning functions.
Carlsberg is currently undergoing a ‘Business Standardisation Programme’ and supply chain integration, which it hopes will improve its capabilities, customer service and efficiency, increase speed and deliver an improved return on its investments.
This is the third deal that Carlsberg has struck with Accenture in recent years to carry out the delivery of applications services and SAP implementations.
“Carlsberg’s programme of standardisation and supply chain integration with its quest for greater efficiencies, and increased agility in order to capture growth opportunities, is characteristic of high performers in the consumer goods sector,” said Henrik Rasmussen, a managing director in Accenture’s Consumer Goods & Services practice.
“The standardised solution that we intend to deliver will support Carlsberg to launch new products faster and enhance its customer service experience.”
It was announced earlier this week that enterprise software giant SAP will acquire e-commerce player hybris in an attempt to further expand its reach into the ‘consumer economy’.
