Ladbrokes has confirmed that its head of online, Gary McIlraith, is leaving the company on 30 June, as part of a senior management team restructuring.
The company said that its revamped organisation reflects a “new cross-channel, centralised” structure that will be more customer-centric.
Ladbrokes will be organised into three operational groups, which will be led by existing directors, Stephen Vowles, Nick Rust and Richard Ames.
Ames will head the Products division, responsible for the business’ IT solutions, including IT and data centralisation, trading systems and margin management.
Vowles will head up the Customer Experience division, where he will be responsible for all customer strategies across all channels. Meanwhile, Rust will be in charge of the Channel group, responsible for delivering Ladbrokes Digital strategies, including mobile. This will be in addition to Rust’s current responsibilities for retail and machines.
“There has been an extensive change at Ladbrokes during the last year as we have implemented our strategy,” said Richard Glynn, who joined Ladbrokes as CEO last year.
“This reorganisation of our senior management is the natural conclusion of these changes and will enable us to have one view of the Ladbrokes customer and how they interact with us through each of our channels – retail, telephone, mobile or Internet.”
Last week, following press speculation, Sportingbet announced that it had received a "highly prelminary" approach from Ladbrokes to buy the company. A spokesperson for Sportingbet said that there had not been any update on the status of the talks.
