Tube Lines, the company that is contracted to modernise three of the busiest London Underground lines has lost a court case against London Underground. Tube Lines has been attempting to get £327 million in compensation from London Underground by claiming that its project over ran on the Jubilee and Northern Lines because of London Underground. Tube Lines is now responsible for paying the £327 million cost of the project over run and the legal fees incurred by London Underground.

Betting shop Ladbrokes may announce that a new chairman this week and the likely candidate used to be the head of Marks & Spencer International, according to reports in the newspapers. Carl Leaver has experience of leading international bank Nomura, Mars and hotel chain Forte. Leaver had also been considered as a possible replacement for Alan Parker, who heads up Whitbread.
