Nokia, the world's biggest mobile phone maker, today told delegates to the US Consumer Electronics Show, the multimedia phone market was growing rapidly.
It said that, while the total multimedia phone market was 90 million units in 2006, it had sold nearly 40 million last year. Nokia also said it had sold nearly 70 million music phones.
This year the market is set to grow to 250 million unit sales, as Nokia unveiled three new multimedia phone models across its N-Series range.
It also said it plans to work with eBay to integrate voice over internet protocol (VoIP) calling from its market leading subsidiary, Skype into its new N800 internet tablet device.
