Gala Coral, the betting and gaming group, has signed a 10-year systems contract with supplier Playtech.
The deal, billed as one of the supplier’s largest contracts, will see Gala Coral use Playtech’s online betting systems. The value of the deal has not been disclosed.
Playtech’s software will be the platform for Gala Coral’s sports betting, casino and bingo sites. The company will also supply its IMS gaming management platform.
Gala Coral's migration from existing software to the Playtech platform and other Playtech services will commence in the first half of 2012.
Playtech has a joint venture with bookmaker and Coral rival William Hill. William Hill is understood to be aware of the Gala Coral deal, the Financial Times reported.
The news comes as Playtech said it was acquiring Sweden-based mobile-phone sports betting platform firm Mobenga, for $22 million. Mobenga serves companies including PaddyPower, Unibet, Skybet, Stan James, and Nordicbet.
