Under the five year contract, Logica will manage a range of IT used by the solicitors’ industry body, including applications, servers, remote services, and a wide area network.
The deal is pegged at a 25 per cent price reduction per year from the original four year deal between the two parties. Logica will use staff in the UK and abroad.
The Law Society has also invited Logica to participate in its IT leadership team, so that the IT services firm can advise it on future initiatives.
Des Hudson, chief executive at the Law Society, said the cost savings “will help the society meet its IT investment plans” including planned “substantial” spending on new systems in its regulatory operations.
