Ethernet and wireless network testing firm Spirent has posted a 16% rise in quarterly revenue to $111.9 million for the first quarter to March 31.
In a trading update today, the British firm said it was directly benefitting from the aggressive roll-out of 4G networks in China.
The company, which lists Huawei and China Mobile among its clients, said orders were up 12% over the quarter. Chinese market aside, Spirent said market conditions had improved in all regions compared to first quarter of 2013.
The company tests ethernet networks, and 3G/4G wireless devices and network capability. Additionally, its cloud computing testing methodology validates the Quality of Service (QoS) of cloud infrastructures as well as the Quality of Experience (QoE) across cloud services.
Spirent is increasingly diversifying away from the USA, traditionally its largest market. Following the results, shares in the Crawley, West Sussex-based company spiked by nearly 8% at one point to 104.2p.
